Provenance: Sotheby King and Chasemore, Studio Sale, March 1981; Bourne Gallery.

Morris studied in Manchester under the flower and still-life painter, William Muckley.  From 1869 he exhibited in London including over thirty landscapes at the Royal Academy.  He travelled in Spain and Italy painting in both oil and watercolour.  In the 1870's he settled for a while in Capri and Granada.
